The core idea is simple: you scan once, and the app does the rest—automatically extracting the Store Name, line-item purchases, individual prices, and final totals using a hybrid parsing engine that balances speed, accuracy, and cost efficiency (Local Templates + OpenAI Vision AI).
At the heart of the product is a polished, workflow-focused interface built for people who actually deal with receipts daily—whether that’s small business owners, freelancers, or anyone who wants their expense tracking to feel less like manual labor and more like automation.
The system includes Smart Routing (Auto-Pilot), which immediately checks whether an uploaded receipt matches a known local template (for example, a consistent retailer layout like Publix). When it recognizes one, it can parse the receipt almost instantly with an ultra-fast, free path—no cloud calls, no delays, just reliable extraction optimized for that store’s format.
For everything else—the ugly receipts, the crumpled ones, the weird layouts, or new stores—it seamlessly switches into Vision AI Fallback, leveraging OpenAI’s GPT-4o Vision to “see” the receipt the way a human would. This mode is especially useful for receipts that break traditional parsers: mixed fonts, uneven spacing, unusual tax lines, or totals that don’t appear where you’d expect. The Vision approach helps resolve common issues like tax/total mismatches and misread line items, and produces a far more usable output on the first pass.
On the review side, the Dashboard makes the results practical, not just “technically extracted.” It includes live total calculation, easy row deletion and cleanup, and built-in red-flag validation to catch likely typos before exporting—so users don’t have to discover problems later in their accounting software.
Finally, everything is built to be immediately usable outside the app: CSV/Excel export is one click away, formatted to plug directly into bookkeeping and accounting workflows.
